::Tome Reader::

That post title up there makes me snickerley...

Sound like 'Tomb Raider" don't it ?
Lara Croft I ain't...

I do think Angelina Jolie has dandy tattoos... And cute babies... And a hot Daddy- and NO I am not referring to Brad Pitt !!

But I drift...

Hello, My Name is Karen.
And I am a Tome Reader.

Be it a Big Ol Coffee Table book, Little Golden Readers, Nancy Drew, Cookbooks (yes, you Can read a cookbook), How-To DIY's, A.A. Milne, Rosamunde Pilcher, Medical Texts, Chick Lit.,  Cozy Mystery, True Crime, How to Draw Your Own House Plans, and a good vintage set of Encyclopedias full of out dated Archaic information, all can be thumbed thru and Savoured.

If it comes between two covers... You can bet I'll want a look-see.

Here are my latest Choices du Jour'...

Had to read "False Mermaid" first. This is the third of author Erin Harts 'Nora Gavin' books.

Loved Loved Loved her first book "Haunted Ground" !!

And then came her second- she had me enchanted at sight of the cover....

sighes...
False Mermaid was pretty good. A bit of a umphy anti-climax ending I thought tho.  I do enjoy a Mystery with  Archeology thrown into the mix.

Already read- Kinda Ehhh... Pretty Cover Photo tho..

Looking Forward to this one !!

Loved This Book !! And the Long Green Blue Sea Scarf...

Another by Gil McNeil... next in the Beach Street series... Just a bit ehhh...
Just a bit ehhh...

So, I have got a few left out of this batch to read.

I can say our small local Library reaps the benefit of my biblophilia...  They get sacks of books to sort thru. They can stock their shelves, or use them for their fund-raiser sales....
Whichever way- I can Happily (and Guilt free) restock my stash knowing I Have Done A Good deed !!

There is Truly nothing a whole lot more enticing that the feel and heft and anticipation of a Book !!

Now-
I am off to eat my lunch.

And check on my slow-cooker of Bar-B-Que beef simmering away. I will make a creamy potato salad and some marinated cauliflower and carrots to go along with... A Tasty Late Suppertime if I do say so myself !!

Now Go Forth--- And Read On !!

xoxo

It is so nice to know that there is someone who understands that you can 'really' read cookbooks. Thanks for giving us a quick review of all of your choices.

Have a great, rest of the long weekend. xo

OMG barbecue beef is SOOO good! Have you ever tried coca cola ribs? I know Paula Deen has a recipe for Cola Basted Ham, but I hear people do coke & spare ribs too. Mmmm...

Oh absolutely, I agree you can read cookbooks. Jamie Oliver does really good ones. "Jamie's Ministry of Food" comes to mind. I am also a big fan of the River Cottage series. They cover everything from hedgerows & mushrooms to sea fishing. Cool suff.
